POLOKWANE

Limpopo branch held their celebration on
the 15th of June 2022. This event was held at Grace and Hope Special
School in Seshego.

We were welcomed by excited kids and their care givers. We spent the day playing lots
of indigenous games also including face painting, rope skipping, chess games
and dancing and singing.

JOHANNESBURG

Our event was held at the Jakaranda Kinderhuis together with The South African Depression and Anxiety Group.

We started off with and art therapy workshop that was run by two talented Art Therapists, Gabriela Falkson and Alexandra Khazin. This workshop was designed to create awareness around mental health and the challenges that our youth face as well as to provide healthier coping mechanisms.

This was followed by a brilliant presentation and discussion by Jay Stamos and Divashnee Pillay from NPower and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group.

CAPE TOWN

This day was hosted by Groote Schuur High School, in association with the Mark Jenneker Foundation. We were accompanied by kids from Groote Schuur High School, New Eisleben High School as well as Portlands Primary who joined in on the fun. Guest speakers, Lindiswa Mavavana who is an HTC councillor and Mark Jenneker who is a qualified Art Therapist spoke to the kids, addressing Mental Health.

We awarded kids with man and woman of the match, best artwork, best culturally dressed and the winning school won a trophy. We played tug of war, three sticks, we did some stick fighting, and everyone had an art therapy session with Mr Jeneker and his lovely wife Carol Jeneker.
