To facilitate long term healthcare for rural areas in South Africa we are mobilizing teams of healthcare workers for on-site assistance. Coordinating a medical treatment plan for each patient is made possible through our vital role-players.
Our mobile staff are trained to lend on-site medical assistance to our rural communities. Highly skilled nurses assist patients with general health, monitoring conditions such as blood pressure, blood sugar, general check-ups, family planning and vaccination. Nurses are trained to identify when patients need more specialized care and will set up a virtual consultation with one of our on-call doctors. They also have the ability to do necessary bloodwork and pathology testing through the help of our laboratory partners.
With a vast network of health practitioners from various fields, we can virtually connect the patient with our doctor-on-call. Our medical practitioners have access to real time patient data by means of our digital data platform, HEROH. Here we capture a full medical history of our patients, giving our doctors a global understanding of the patients journey to good health.
With our logistical network we can link our patients to care facilities should they need specialized care. Many people do not have the means to get to clinics and hospitals to receive the care they need. By transporting them to and from these facilities we ensure that they have the best chance at gaining good health. We work closely with health facilities in each targeted area, and can give vital health information and medical histories to the necessary parties to further streamline the treatment process.
Our partner in pharmacology, Med-Cure Pharmacy, facilitates the dispensing of necessary medication to all our targeted areas as prescribed by our doctors. The medication is delivered door to door by our logistics team. Ensuring our patients do not go without chronic medication is vital to sustained health in our communities.
Non-communicable disease
To ensure that our patient records are up to date and consolidated, we use HEROH. This cloud based digital data platform by eHealth Africa, enables various role players such as doctors, nurses, hospitals, administrators, and coordinators to have access to necessary medical information. HEROH allows for different levels of access suited for each role player, ensuring the ethical handling of patient information. Now patients are assured that each virtual and physical consultation is well documented, follow-up consultations are met and medications are dispensed timeously. Should a patient be referred to a health care facility, we are able to hand over necessary medical information to the facility.
