South Africa faces severe poverty, especially prevalent in rural areas. Access to healthcare has improved over the course of our democracy, however, this remains a service difficult to access by many. We have managed to build a highly skilled team to create strategies and solutions for the delivery of healthcare services to these communities.
By making use of a trusted network of service providers, we aim to bring healthcare to the doorstep of those less fortunate, in areas that are difficult to access. We commit to the development of technological and strategic solutions to facilitate long term healthcare for the economically disadvantaged communities of South Africa.
With the implementation of a unique healthcare system, we can run bloodwork, issue scripts and deliver medication. We are also able to link the patients to more specialized care facilities while also providing transport thereto. By making use of specifically developed software for patient records we can track in detail the patients journey to better health.

To ensure contributions are used efficiently, we have developed a thorough system of checks and balances to ensure funds are spent in accordance to our vision.
To ensure that our funds align with approved budgets, all our departments are subject to regular independent audits. From visits to our various facilities to field visits we ensure that our communities are getting the benefits and services promised to our sponsors.
All of our financial reports are available upon request. Internal and external auditing ensure that we comply with our financial responsibilities to our employees, our patients and our sponsors.

Holds a Bachelor of Administration Degree from the then University of the North
He is an accomplished supply chain professional with over 20 years of experience in the Procurement and Supply Chain sector both in Public and Private Sector. He is a successful Entrepreneur who owns both a Logistics and Paint Manufacturing and Distribution companies with footprints in Gauteng and Limpopo Provinces.
Born and bred in a small village in Limpopo called Kalkspruit, growing up in a village had its own challenges like walking about 10 kilometers to and from School, school over-crowding, lack of access to clean water, lack of access to better health facilities, alcohol abuse etc.
It is against this backdrop and other socio-economic ills like high rate of unemployment, high rate of school dropouts, poverty, alcohol abuse, youth pregnancy etc that are ravaging his community that fueled his passion and felt compelled to be part of HUMANITAS in order to assist and address these socio- economic ills not only in his community but other communities suffering the same ills through-out South Africa

Angela Brest
Angela is a motivated self-starter with over 27 years’ experience in the dental industry. Having completed her Diploma in Oral Hygiene, at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1994, Angela went on to work in private practice. She then went on to complete an Advanced Diploma in Periodontics at the University of Pretoria in 1998 and in 2007, She obtained her Diploma in Marketing and Corporate communications (Cum Laude), University of Johannesburg accreditation. In 2019 She completed Expanded functions for oral hygienists at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.
Angela was awarded The President’s Award for Research and Thesis – Oral health status of the homeless population, 1994 – and it was during this research that she realized how impoverished communities were affected by poor living conditions and how detrimental these conditions were on their health and how very little assistance these communities were getting.
Through her work as an Oral hygienist, Angela has had to learn to communicate with kindness, empathy and patience, because her patients could only listen not speak. As a result, she has a deep respect and understanding of the human psyche, how fragile human beings are and how meaningful giving assistance is.
Having faced personal demons which included addiction, Angela realized that had it not been for people, often strangers who reached out and helped, she would not be here today and that drives her to give that back. She was lifted up by a community and it taught her to stand up again and be proud.
Being in the health industry educating, assisting and teaching have become crucial tools to ensure that communities can grow and thrive and provide for their own families.

Luzanne Vorster
Born and raised in Zululand, Luzanne Vorster was directly inspired the true spirit of Ubuntu. Through her interaction with kids from her local communities she came to understand the difficulties they faced, often wondering why the less fortunate were so easily forgotten by those with greater fortune. Her father, a Captain in the South African Police Service, focused on domestic violence in these areas. He would tell her stories of how poverty, untreated illnesses and lack of necessities would often lead to incidents of violence especially against women and children.
After matriculating, she decided to complete a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, with the vision of empowering the youth in the rural parts of the country, for them to create their own income. She completed her studies, finishing her degree through the Tshwane University of Technology and left for South Korea to gain teaching experience.
Upon her return Luzanne opted to first enter the private sector and gain business experience before starting her own business with the key focus on imports and exports. The profits of this company were used to help people in need with only 20% being kept for profit.
During this period, she was also inspired by the work her Fiancé, Johan van den Berg, was involved in. While he was busy conducting national health studies for a research company, mostly in rural communities, Luzanne saw the tremendous pressure under which the public health sector must operate and how dire the situation is for people in rural communities.
She decided, along with her fellow directors, to start HUMANITAS, focusing only on bringing the best professional medical assistance to our communities.
